Little League Baseball
Jackie Robinson West unbeaten in regional play
Jackie Robinson West might have caused a local team heartache, but the Little League team from Chicago is doing the state of Illinois proud.


Jackie Robinson West, which defeated Bradley-Bourbonnais American twice for the state crown last week, finished 4-0 in pool play at the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in Indianapolis, earning a spot in the regional semifinals.


The bats have been the story for Jackie Robinson West, which defeated West Side (Ohio) 5-4, Knox County (Ky.) 11-0, Burlington (Wisc.) 15-5 and Hagerstown (Ind.) 16-2.


Jackie Robinson West is the top seed of the four that advanced to the semifinals and will face fourth-seeded Wisconsin at 6 p.m. Thursday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.


The first semifinal pits second-seeded Michigan against third-seeded Ohio at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
